Frequently Asked Questions
Below is a list of general questions about our process. If you have any further questions, please contact us or visit our showroom located in Phoenixville.
Should I make an appointment to discuss my memorial needs?
No appointment is necessary. Our office and showroom is open Monday thru Thursday from 10am to 4:30pm and Friday from 10am to 3pm.
Early morning, evening, and Saturday appointments are available if these times are not convenient. We also offer home visits.
Should I bring the cemetery deed with me?
While helpful, it is not needed. We can obtain the necessary information that we need for your memorial from the cemetery.
After purchasing my memorial, do I need to contact the cemetery?
Valley Forge Memorials will take care of all the arrangements for you. We will contact the cemetery, order, and purchase the foundation and confirm any special requirements to install your memorial.
Will I be able to preview the memorial prior to completion?
After your consultation and selection of the memorial, we will prepare a drawing for your approval. This allows you to see your precise design choice and lettering on paper prior to any engraving being completed.
At this time we ask you to verify the information and your design layout. If necessary, notify us of any changes to be made.
How long does it take to produce my monument or marker?
Typically, it takes 4 to 6 months from the final design approval. Some, depending on shape and design, may take longer. Foundations cannot be poured when the ground is frozen. This may delay the installation of the monument or marker. Valley Forge Memorials will order the approved monuments so they can be installed once the weather allows.
How long does it take for lettering work to be completed?
Cemetery lettering, because it is done outdoors, can be delayed by bad weather. For this reason we say it may take from ten to fifteen weeks to be completed.
Can we select any type of memorial or marker?
That may depend on the cemetery your family uses. Some have requirements on the size and style you may use. Our Memorial Specialists are familiar with the requirements of many of the surrounding area cemeteries. Our Specialists will contact the cemetery to verify any requirements.
I do not live in state, can I still order a memorial?
Yes, our Memorial Specialists will help guide you through design options over the phone and email. We recommend looking through our gallery to see if you like a particular design or color to help navigate the options.
